Brothers Dewayne Scott, Homer Malone, Joe Bloodworth, Victor Foreman

The ELDERS

Currently, there are five Elders overseeing the West Eastland congregation. Under their leadership, the congregation is fed through a number of different avenues which incudes Bible Classes, Workshops, Special Ministries, and Annual Special Events which will facilitate the growth of each and every individual member.   Each elder serves in various capacities within the congregation. Four of our five elders are pictured. From left to right they are as follows: Dewayne Scott, Homer Malone, Joe Bloodworth, and Victor Foreman. Our fifth elder, Brother Ramsey Malone is not pictured.

 

As of January 2008, Brother Dewayne Scott is 46 years old and has been married to his wife Kaye for 23 years.   They have three children, Brian, Kristen, and Jordan.  He has served as an elder for five years.  Brother Dewayne also serves as the Assistant Minister,  works with the Marriage Ministry, and works diligently in the Church Counseling Ministry.

 

Brother Homer Malone is 69 years old and has been married to his wife Barbara for 47 years.   They have four adult children and several grandchildren.   He has served as an elder at West Eastland for over thirty-four (34)years.  Brother Homer works with the Building Facilities, Church Financials, and planning for the Educational Program  He also serves as a teacher and counsels as needed.

 

Brother Joe Bloodworth is our oldest elder and is 79 years old.  He has been married to Idella his wife for 50 years. They have four children and several grandchildren..   He too has served as an elder at West Eastland for over thirty-four (34) years.  Brother Bloodworth serves in an Advising and Counseling capacity to the membership.  He also servs as a teacher of the adult class as needed.

 

Brother Victor Foreman is 47 years old and has been married to his wife Georgia for 22 years.   They have three children, Makia, Karl, and Victoria.  They have two twin boy grandchildren and whom they love to love as grandparents.  Victor has served as an elder at West Eastland for three (3) years.  Brother Victor works with the Youth Ministry, the Transportation Ministry, and oversees the Sisters Ministry.  He too serves as a regular Bible School Teacher and Counselor to the membership.

 

Brother Ramsey Malone (not pictured) is 71 years old and has been married to Betty 45 years.   They have three children, Glynis, Ernie, and Marcee. They also have  ten grandchildren.  He has served as an elder at WECoC for thirty-four (34) years also and serves in an advising and counseling capacity to the membership.   

 

   THE MINISTERS

Brother Benjamin Roberts Jr and Brother Dewayne Scott Brother Benjamin "Ben" Roberts Jr. has served as the full-time Minster at the congregation for the past 12 years. He also serves as a Family Counselor.   

Brother Dewayne Scott serves as the Assistant Minister to Brother Roberts.  Dewayne and Ben serve in a very unique relationship to the church as ministers (Dewayne being an elder also).  The harmonious way in which they are able to work closely in the pulpit and conduct workshops throughout the country serving other congregations providing Congregational Need Analysis so that other churches can better meet the needs of their local membership. 

One of the many ways that Brother Roberts blesses the West Eastland membership and community is his rich background in counseling.  His counseling experience stretches for over 22 years and he is a Licensed and Board Certified Marriage  and Family Therapist for the state of Tennessee.  Many lives have been and continues to be blessed by his genuine care for people. Ben is 46 years old and has been married to his wife Leota for 25 years.  Their son, age 18 is Ben III and he currently is attending the University of Memphis.

You will see Ben and Dewayne quite often on the weekly Time For Truth Program which can be seen each Wednesday nights on Channel 21 or Channel 39 in the Middle Tennessee area at 9:30 p.m. cst.

The DEACONS  Brother Joe Shaw and Brother Glen Belcher 

There are currently two deacons serving at West Eastland.

Brother Joe Shaw is 49 years old and has been married to his wife Audrey for 24 years.   They have two children, Joshua and Jonae.   He has served as a deacon at West Eastland Church of Christ for eight (8) years.  Brother Joe has served as the educational minister from 1984 until this year.  He now serves as minister of our newly created Seniors Ministry for members 60 and older.

Brother Glen Belcher is 53 years old and has been married to his wife Gertrude for 28 years.   They have three adult children, Fatimah, Tammy and Tony.  He has served as deacon at West Eastland for twenty-two (22) years.  He is minister over the Television Ministry.
